OUR STORY
Founded over 17 years ago, Soundswrite has grown into one of Vancouver's favourite studios for voice-over demo production. As Vancouver's original voice-over training centre, it's also a top choice for one-on-one coaching from some of the most experienced voice-over artists in the industry. Our coaches have taught in schools, private businesses and studios throughout Vancouver and internationally. BILL LAWRIE
owner/technical director
Bill has been behind the board and under the desk re-gigging wires and making connections for the past 20 years. He has built two sound studios from the ground up and continues to advise clients on
installing their own home studios. An actor and voice talent trained at VFS, Bill has coached privately and in classrooms and workshops throughout Vancouver and online. His rich, baritone voice can be heard on hundreds of projects for clients internationally, including Knowledge Network, Seimens Germany, MicroSoft, and he has voiced for ESL clients in China and throughout North America. As our chief engineer and sound exporter, Bill's dream is to one day set up a floating studio on his sailboat. Coaching in the Caribbean anyone?
CALLAN FRIESEN

Callan graduated from Story Institute with a Professional Acting Diploma as well as from Vancouver Island University with a degree in Creative Writing. He has been singing in a metal band for years and paid dues voice acting for
online fan animations and redubs through his teens and twenties. Now a signed actor in his own right, it was only after he started working one-on-one with his mentors at Soundswrite and receiving private engineering training from sister studios across the lower mainland that he gained the ability to tap into the awesome power of... the DEMO-gorgon! Fast forward through the production of countless auditions, demos, and a tome of an audiobook, and Callan is here to craft the demos you've always dreamt of showing off to friends, agents, and casting directors!
